New Year’s 2021-22 — FAQ

Where is the retreat located?

New Year’s Retreat 2021-22 will primarily be on Zoom for safety. We are planning to have a safe socially distanced outdoor music playing and singing event on New Year’s Day.

Can I attend for just one day or one night instead of the entire retreat?

Sure, come for any or all of the sessions.

I’ve never attended a SLAA retreat before. What can I expect?

You can expect to attend workshops and SLAA meetings based on the 12 Traditions as pioneered by Alcoholics Anonymous. You can expect to meet supportive members of the SLAA community who can answer questions you might have about recovery and SLAA. You can expect an invitation to work on yourself in a new way at this retreat.

You can expect opportunities to be of service, such as serving as secretary at a meeting, talking to a newcomer, sharing at a meeting, or assisting the Retreat Committee if you like.

This year we will not be in an idyllic nature location like we often are. Hopefully soon!

What kinds of outdoor activities are available during the retreat?

We are planning a music and singing event on New Year’s Day.

Are scholarships available?

No one is turned away for lack of funds. However, please consider donating as we do have expenses.
